Dr. Marshall Freilich received his Bachelor of Science degree from York University in 1987, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 1991. He completed a General Practice Residency at the University of British Columbia in 1992, following which he practiced general dentistry for two years. Dr. Freilich obtained his surgical residency training at Dalhousie University, graduating with a Master of Science degree in 1998, and pursued fellowship training in Paediatric and Reconstructive oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Toronto affiliated teaching hospitals.
Dr. Freilich has been a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon since 1999. He is currently staff surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital Joseph and Wolf Lebovic Health Complex, Graduate Training Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and The Hospital for Sick Children. He is Associate in Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, and a past-president of the Ontario Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Freilich has a special interest in reconstructive surgical procedures, including implant surgery, that facilitate comprehensive prosthetic dental care. Outside of his involvement in clinical research and teaching, he has pioneered the establishment of iliac crest (hip) graft surgery as a routine outpatient, in-office procedure, in order to improve access of this care to his patients. He has authored and co-authored several articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. |
